SEA
Poem by Ibtisam Barakat
I stood by the sea
And knew that
It's not only me
Who wants
To be free. .
Wave after wave
Saying good-bye
Wishfully
The sea
Pounds the chain
Of the shore
Demanding an end
To confinement.
It wants to kiss
The moon
Who pulls,
pushes,
teases
From one end
Of the heavens . .
To the other end
Of patience . .
But keeps a distance!
